The Evansville IceMen are proud to announce the addition of Shane Hemingway as the Icemen's Strength and Conditioning Coach. Mr. Hemingway started his hockey career early in the Evansville Youth Hockey League and continued to play up through college level, so he brings a love of the game and experience to the team, and even continues playing today with the Evansville Adult Hockey League. Shane is a former United States Marine, has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education, and is a certified Personal Trainer. During the past twelve years he has worked for the government and in this capacity has trained new agents and designed programs specific to special operations. Shane is excited about the opportunity to utilize his skills and abilities to enhance the conditioning of the Icemen for a successful opening season. IceMen General Manager, Chip Rossetti, is thrilled about the addition of Hemingway, "Shane brings a wealth of knowledge in fitness and conditioning to our organization. Couple that with his hockey background and you have an opportunity to maximize our players potential." |

Evansville IceMen General Manager Chip Rossetti announced today that the team is partnering with G.D. Ritzy's to raise money for Jacob's Village. The IceMen will host a preseason exhibition game on Friday, October 24th at 8:00pm at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville. All of the proceeds from the exhibition game will be donated to Jacob's Village. Jacob's Village is a residential community for adults with developmental disabilities. They provide a choice for families who are seeking alternative living arrangements for their family member. Rossetti was excited about this partnership finally coming to fruition. "We have been working for a while to find a way to have a game like this, where we could donate the gate to a great cause. G.D. Ritzy's helped to make that possible. Without their involvement we would not have been able to make this happen." Tickets for the game will be only $4 dollars and there will be a silent auction to help raise additional money. Products from local businesses are currently being accepted by the IceMen for the auction. Contact Chip Rossetti for more information. Jacob's Village spokeswoman Karin Macke was thrilled to be involved in this game. "It's exciting for the community, and also Jacob's Village is very fortunate to be the recipient of these funds," Macke said on Tuesday. G.D. Ritzy's President, Dan Grunow, saw this as a great way to give back to the community. "Jacob's Village is a non-profit organization that continues to look for funding to help physically and mentally challenged adults in their day to day lives, and we are excited to be able to help support their mission." The IceMen are committed to providing quality, affordable entertainment to the Tri-State. The team is also committed to giving back the community that has embraced them since the team was announced. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the team office. |
