IceMen Lose Conference Lead with 4-3 Loss to Ft. Wayne

Evansville, IN:  In a battle of the Turner Conference leaders, the IceMen’s depleated bench would prove to be to much to overcome.  The IceMen would fall to the Ft. Wayne Komets 4-3.  With the loss, the IceMen now trail the Komets by 2 points.

The Komets would score first when Artem Podshendyalov would find the net at the 14:10 mark of the first.  The IceMen would not be able to find the net in the first.

 

The IceMen would start the scoring quick in the second when Steve Makway and Brian Bicek would set up an open John Ronan deep in the zone.  Ronan’s goal would come just 1:44 into the period.  Todd Robinson would give the IceMen their first lead at the 7:14 mark.  Ft Wayne would retake the lead after goals from Brett Smith and Jamie Milam.

 

Nicklas Lindberg would tie the game for the IceMen with lest then 10:00 left in the game. The IceMen would not be able to score again. Ft. Wayne would score at 12:31 to give them a 4-3 lead.
