Acquired: Blizzards path to become the mascot for the
Evansville IceMen has taken some interesting and crazy
turns. His parents, who are from the Glaciers of the South
Pole, moved to the Mesker Park Zoo in Evansville when
they heard the IceMen were coming to town. Blizzard was
born in the South Pole just months before the big move.
His dream was to live and play in the Swonder Ice Arena.
His dream almost didn’t come true when he was run over
by the IceMen Bus saving his sister while he was on his
way to the first ever practice at the arena. The burly
Blizzard escaped with only a broken paw and a smooshed
tail. Blizzard and IceMen General Manager Chip Rossetti
became friends almost immediately. He was offered a job
changing the light bulbs in the arena because Blizzard
was the only one fearless and crazy enough to take the
job. Eventually the IceMen wanted a mascot to represent
the team and the city, and Blizzard’s goofy and energetic
antics made him the perfect fit. When he was offered a
three figure signing bonus he accepted, was delivered to
the arena with much fanfare, and the rest is history.

Offseason: Pizza delivery (until he got fired for delivering
only empty boxes). He now does appearances for his
many fans throughout the Mid-West.

Personal: Blizzard is single and resides in Evansville
inside the Swonder Ice Arena. He can be reached for
appearances by calling (812) 435-8971
