12-3-15: Ronald McDonald House Holiday Decorating

16 IceMen players and front office staff visited the Ronald McDonald House to help decorate for the holiday season. After receiving a tour of the house and hearing how Ronald McDonald charities helps the Tri-State area, they started putting up trees, garland, and wreaths, as well as helped make Grab and Go breakfast bags for the families staying at the house. Everyone had a great time helping decorate.


12-15-15: Cold Stone Blizzard’s Buddies Holiday Party at GattiTown

Players took some time out of their busy December schedule to hang out with Cold Stone Blizzard’s Buddies at GattiTown. After dinner the big kids and little kids played games and had fun.

Special In-Game Givebacks and Promotions

12-4-15: The IceMen teamed up with State Farm Agent Paul Watzlavik for game three of three Friday night Home Games to collect non-perishable food items.


12-19-15: During one of the best games of the year, the IceMen teamed up with 911 Gives Hope to collect stuffed animals to hand out during the holiday season. An estimated 2,500 stuffed animals were collected on Teddy Bear Toss night.

A big help in bringing in so many stuffed animals were Tri-State area boy scouts. The scouts’ annual Salebration Night saw over 600 scouts and their families in the Ford Center to celebrate a job well done with their biggest fundraiser, popcorn. Any scout who sold over $1,000 in popcorn received a free ticket to the game and a chance to participate in an IceMen group experience.


12-31-15: With New Year’s Eve typically being one of the highest nights for DUI arrests, Logan’s Promise was in attendance to encourage IceMen fans to sign I PROMISE pledges to not drink and drive. The Evansville Police Department later reported zero DUI arrests on New Year’s Eve. The IceMen would like to thank all the people who took to heart their signed I PROMISE Pledges.

11-5-15: My Story – Leadership at Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare

IceMen Team Captain, Jarret Lukin and Alternate Captain, Spencer Humphries visited students at Southwestern to talk to the about what it means to be a leader, how they are leaders on the ice and away from hockey, and how the kids can be leaders in their everyday lives.


11-10-15: Play for Kate Celebrity Server at Beef O’Brady’s

Beef O’Brady’s hosted a Celebrity Server event to benefit the Play for Kate Foundation. Several IceMen players took an hour shift serving meals to guests to help raise money for Play for Kate.


11-17-15: Wesselman’s Autograph Session

Four IceMen players were at Wesselman’s to sign autographs for fans and customers.


11-23-15: Super Mega Replay Autograph Session

IceMen players were at Super Mega Replay to sign autographs and help had out goodies to Cold Stone Blizzard’s Buddies.

Special In-Game Givebacks and Promotions

11-4-15: The Evansville IceMen’s 5th Annual Education Day hosted area schools for this unique field trip opportunity to not only have fun at a hockey game, but learn though the sport. Tickets were reduced and a special workbook was offered to all in attendance. The workbook featured lessons in math, science, health, English, and more. All lessons centered around the sport of hockey. Just under 5,000 students attended this year’s Education Day.


On the day of the game, schools were already requesting to be on the list for next year. One student even went as far as to tell his teacher that it was, “The best day ever, and I’m not leaving my seat, EVER!” This event is special to the organization because it gives kids that might never get to see a hockey game an opportunity to experience how great the sport is.


11-6-15: The IceMen teamed up with State Farm Agent Paul Watzlavik for game one of three Friday night Home Games to collect non-perishable food items.


Also at the game three jerseys were raffled off with all proceeds going to the Ivy Tech Foundation in the name of the Kirby Russell Scholarship.

11-21-15: Deaconess and the IceMen teamed up for Prostate Cancer Awareness Night. 1980 Gold Medal Winner from the Miracle on Ice hockey team, Dave Christian, was in town to help promote the night. He signed autographs, took pictures with fans, and let people see a piece of history by showcasing the gold medal he won in Lake Placid, NY. The IceMen also wore specialty jerseys that were auctioned off at the end of the game with proceeds going back to the Deaconess Foundation.

10-3-15: Smile On Down Syndrome SMILE Mile

Cold Stone Blizzard participated in Smile on Down Syndrome’s SMILE Mile walk at the Vanderburgh Co. 4H Fair Grounds. Blizzard walked the mile with Eddie’s Buddies. While out at SMILE Mile, Blizzard not got to catch up with his friend Eddie, he also got to meet some new ones.


10-6-15: Blue & White Game

The IceMen held a scrimmage at the Edge Arena in Owensboro, KY. The White team won 5-2.   Owensboro Youth Hockey Association was on hand to take donations for their hockey program, and after the game players greeted fans for autographs and pictures during a post-game skate.


10-10-15: Fall Festival Parade

Cold Stone Blizzard, the Icicles, and Front Office staff participated in the West Side Nut Club’s Fall Festival Parade. Franklin Street was lined with people, and as always the IceMen had a great time seeing everyone.


10-13-15: IceMen Meet & Greet

IceMen Season Ticket Holders and fans were invited to a special pre-season meet and greet. The entire team was present for autographs, pictures, and a special getting to know you segment.


10-16-15: Boo at the Zoo

IceMen Front Office Staff handed out free goodies at Mesker Park Zoo to kids looking to have fun while Trick-or-Treating with the animals.


10-17-15: Boy Scout Field Day

Cold Stone Blizzard spent some time before the IceMen Home Opener helping the Boy Scouts promote Popcorn Sales and Scout Night with the IceMen in December.


10-20-15: Archie’s Birthday Party

Tri-State area mascots, including Cold Stone Blizzard, got together to celebrate Archie’s 45th Birthday. Happy Birthday Archie!


10-22-15: Don Claytons Coat-A-Kid Kickoff

Cold Stone Blizzard visited some students at Cedar Hall Community School to helped Don Claytons kickoff their Coat-A-Kid program. In addition to Blizzard helping kickoff the program, the IceMen Front Office served as a collection site through the month of December. Anyone dropping off a new or gently used kids coat could receive a free kids ticket to the December 18th Home Game.


10-22-15: OA Open House

The IceMen attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for one of their biggest sponsors, Orthopedic Associates. This new state of the art west side location is one of two OA locations where players can go for treatment after an injury occurs during the season.

10-26-15: Keep Evansville Beautiful Ford Center Clean Up

IceMen players, fans, and front office staff spent some time cleaning up trash around the Ford Center in conjunction with Keep Evansville Beautiful.

Money raised from the auction went back to Riley Hospital for Children and Hunter Schuler, a member of one of our Season Ticket Holder’s families. Also USI’s Miracle Minute collected money for Riley Hospital for Children during the game.

9-10-15: 4th Annual Baskin Robbins Celebrity Scoop Night

Our very own Stephen Rickard, Icicle Kensey, and Icicle Crystal took part in competing for tips while scooping ice cream at the 4th Annual Baskin Robbins Celebrity Scoop night to benefit Hangers, the EVSC Student Clothing Resource Closet. They raised $50 in tips to help with the purchase of clothing for EVSC students.


9-12-15: Vann Auto Fleet Center Grand Opening

Cold Stone Blizzard was at our sponsor, Vann Auto Fleet Center’s Grand Opening. He greeted guests in the new show room and checked out some trucks.

9-13-15: Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science Grandportation Day

Cold Stone Blizzard helped the Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science celebrate its first ever Grandportation Day. With the combination of Transportation Day and Grandparent’s Day Blizzard got to see a lot of friends he’s met over the years as the IceMen’s mascot.


9-19-15: Tri-State Speedway

The IceMen Ticket Sales Staff and Assistant Coach Johan Lundskog were out at Tri-State Speedway greeting race fans, and talking about the upcoming 2015-2016 hockey season.


9-24-15: Wayne’s Appliance Komen Race for the Cure Event

Icicles Michelle & Jessica B., Cold Stone Blizzard, and new Broadcaster John Peterson, stopped by sponsor Wayne’s Appliance to help celebrate their Komen Race for the Cure Event. Vendors were present for in-store giveaways, and to help raise awareness for the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.
