2015-16 is Sims' second season of pro hockey and his first in an ECHL training camp. The son of IceMen Head Coach Al Sims came to Evansville from the Peoria Rivermen (SPHL) in January 2015 and again in February. He played in 19 games for the IceMen, scoring two goals and adding four assists. Sims also played in five games for the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) last season.


Sims played four seasons at the University of Connecticut from 2010-14, where he tallied 101 points (36-65--101) in 146 games. His best year was in 2012-13, when he set career highs for goals (10) and assists (21) as a junior.
